Do I actually need CMMC Level 2?+

What is the difference between Level 2 self assessment and C3PAO certification?+

A Level 2 self assessment filed in SPRS with an annual affirmation counts only where the solicitation allows it, and DoD expects the large majority of Level 2 contracts to require certification by an accredited third party assessor (a C3PAO) as the rollout completes, so always check the solicitation.
